Students learn best in an environment that allows individualized attention, so our classes have 10-15 students per class. Our school accepts boys and girls. Certified Teachers are in every classroom. Students take core academic subjects of math, language arts, literature, science, social studies and religion on a daily basis. Students learn music theory, learn to play string instruments, and participate in physical education at Lackawanna College weekly. The Lackawanna County Library Bookmobile comes to the school monthly. State-of-the-art classrooms that feature SmartBoard technology, Chromebooks for each student, science lab, computer lab, library, and music room provide an effective and engaging learning environment.


NativityMiguel School of Scranton follows a rigorous curriculum designed specifically for our school. All students are prepared to graduate eighth grade on or above grade-level. The curriculum of The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Teachers bring lessons to life with a hands-on approach to learning, guest speakers, field trips, and other exciting and unique learning opportunities.

Extended School Day And Year

The traditional school day ends at 3:00 p.m., but learning continues until 5:00 p.m. for all students at NativityMiguel School of Scranton. After-school programs focus on strengthening academics. They include supervised homework in a quiet classroom setting with a supporting teacher; a companion program that provides one-on-one homework assistance for some students; a science club that allows students to explore science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Students participate in self monitored clubs like DIY and ethnic dance. There is also a STEM club which functions in conjunction with the Junior Academy of Science. The Marywood Strings Project is a weekly, pre-collegiate string program for students ages 5-18. Students learn in small-group lessons in violin, viola, cello, and double bass; participate in orchestra; and perform in a winter and spring concert on the campus of Marywood University.
