Our Philosophy

We are a private, Catholic, co-educational, tuition-free/all-scholarship middle school institution proudly serving ethnically and religiously diverse students of greater economic need in grades 5-8. Historically, our students have come from Lackawanna and Luzerne counties, but we accept students from anywhere in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Like all NativityMiguel model schools, we offer an extended school day, with our academic day starting at 8:00am and ending at 4:45pm. We also offer an extended school year, with students participating in our rigorous academic program during the traditional school year and in our Summer Program, which is a four-week academic enrichment program that focuses on reading, math, and writing.

In addition to our academically rigorous program, we are committed to educating our students in the arts and humanities, with subjects ranging from music, art, architecture, health, Strings, and more.

Lastly, we are committed to our students even after they leave NMS. Through our Graduate Support Program (GSP), which is another hallmark of a NativityMiguel model school, we continue to provide academic, career, and social/emotional assistance to our graduates through high school, college, and even after college. In all, we commit to our students for 12 years.
