Dear NMC Members and partners in mission,

This past week, our school leaders have shared their anger, disappointment, hope, and resiliency in the ongoing fight against systemic racism and oppression that has plagued our great nation for generations. The NativityMiguel Coalition stands with our member schools and all who fight for a more just world.

With 98% of our students and families identifying as people of color, our member schools serve communities that have been historically under-resourced and underrepresented. The recent murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery reignited the humanitarian unrest not just in our communities but across various towns and cities in our nation and beyond our borders.

The Coalition exists to further the mission of its member schools. Our collective mission is to provide our communities with quality education and opportunities for spiritual, physical, and academic growth. Our mission is rooted in the belief that we are all children of God. We all have human dignity that must be acknowledged and revered. We all deserve to be empowered to be our best selves. We understand that our educational system is inadequate and has failed to justly serve our communities, denying our students the opportunities to reach their true potential.

With 3300+ students enrolled and 8000+ alumni in our 49 member schools, we know first-hand that our students and families will face obstacles at every phase of their lives. That is why the NativityMiguel Coalition will continue to serve its members and communities by fighting against all barriers of racism and injustice.

In partnership, unity, and love,
Daniel Perez
Executive Director
